The Institute

Malout mandi(new) came into existence on 19th january1920 and the name Edward Ganj was added to it to mark the visit of Prince of Wales(Prince Edward) to India on Nov.17,1921. Edward Ganj Public welfare Association has earned a name for social service by rendering varied charitable services to the citizens of this market town. D.A.V. College, Malout was originally founded by the Association as National College in 1968, with a magnificent investment of rupees five lacs earmarked for this new venture to fulfil the long standing educational need of the 'ilaqa'.

To place this institution on a sounder footing both administratively and academically, the directors of Edwardganj Association handed over the college management and control to the D.A.V. College Managing Committee, Chitra Gupta Road, New Delhi, w.e.f. 9th june, 1969. Principal N.D. Grover played a pivotal role in this process.
